2016 Poetica Chardonnay
Big oak and juicy stone fruit aromas prelude the wine's full, round texture and decadent tangy fruit on the palate. There is, above all, a bright acidity to complement the wines bold yet refined structure. Burgundian in both quality and age-ability.

"An impressive chardonnay that falls in line with a consistent string of vintages. Showcasing an impressive layering of flavours on the palate with great textural appeal, almost feathery. Compelling, offering freshness but not sour and a lovely integration of high quality wood. Macadamia and lemon curd linger on the finish of significant length. Drink now or hold 3-4 for further flavour development."

"Nicely contained and evolving slowly, the 2016 edition of Poetica brings together flavour elements from the citrus, orchard and tropical fruit spectrums, light (old) wood influence, and excellent length and depth overall. I like the billowing fruit on the palate contained by a frame of ripe acids; the texture is highly appealing, velvety, but also defined and taut. Really fine wine. Tasted November 2019."

"Restrained, light palate with a charming mealy note and better weight than many Ontario Chardonnays, with an attractive salinity. Just enough texture to make this substantial but not unbalanced. Lovely delicate poise."
